The third digipak I am going to analyse is 'The Kooks - Inside in Inside Out'. The album was released 23rd January 2006 on Virgin Records.
Both the front cover and back cover are black and white photos, this makes the red and black text stand out and grab the audiences title directly to the name of the album. It also shows close up photos of the band, the photos are very natural as the band have not posed for them they just appear to be chilling and playing music, this gives the audience the feeling that they are peering into private lives and getting an idea of what it's like to be part of the band.
The back of the album is a montage of many pictures tinted with different colours showing the band playing live on stage, this may be showing the audiences what it's like to be at thier gigs if the fan is not able to attend themself.
The CD uses the hole within the CD to look like the first 'o' in the title of the band, the CD is opposite to the cover of the album as that is red with black and white writing. Even though they have only used three basic colours for the photos and text this album cover is very effective and stands out, it's simplicity makes it more eye catching. This is the effect I am trying to gain from my CD cover.
